On the last day of FanFest 2013, CCP let their fans try out an experimental demo created by a small team of CCP developers known as EVR. The demo game was developed for the Kickstarter-funded Occulus Rift proto-type virtual reality device. The game was a product of 7 weeks, passion for virtual reality, and pure genius. It allowed players to pilot a fighter-bomber in the EVE universe and participate in 6 vs. 6 (Amarr against Minmitar) battles in deep space. Yet CCP has no outward intention of developing the game past the demo stage at this time.
This blog is the resulting lovesick rantings of a FanFest 2013 attendee completely smitten with EVR and longing once again to feel the dizzying high as the fighter leaves the docking bay and launches into battles of the void.
EVR must be part of EVE forEVeR!
